In Britain At War Magazine read how Taunton and Oxfordshire councils are naming throughfares in memory of the ATA pilots Jackie Moggeridge and Mary Ellis. You can also read my review of Rupert Wieloch's book "Churchill's Abandoned Prisoners", which tells of the fate of soldiers sent to support the anti-communist White Russian Army following the Russian Revolution in 1917.

This afternoon the adventures of Air Transport Auxiliary pilot First Officer Mary Ellis were revealed to a full house at the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne, Kent.

I spoke about the life and times of Spitfire Girl Mary Ellis on the Mike Slater Show which was broadcast live on radio station AM 760 KFMB in San Diego, California. You can listen to our discussion here.

31 January:
The February issue of the Britain At War Magazine is out today. In it you can read my interview with D-Day veteran Joseph Kelsey, and the story of Air Transport Auxiliary pilot Lettice Curtis.

11 January:
Yesterday evening I spoke to the Charing History Society about much-missed ferry pilot First Officer Mary Wilkins Ellis "A Spitfire Girl" and the gallant women of the Air Transport Auxiliary in the Second World War.

29 November:

8 October:
On Friday I shared stories of the life and times of much-missed 'Spitfire Girl' ATA First Officer Mary Wilkins Ellis with the Chatham Naval Officers Association at The Royal Military School of Engineering.


27 September:
Pilot Gerry Abrahams told me of his experiences flying during the Berlin Airlift of 1948-49. His story is recounted in the October issue of the Britain At War magazine.


24 September:
A memorial service for former ATA Pilot Mary Ellis was held today in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.


30 August:

WRNS veteran Beth Davison reveals her story about her work in the wartime "Y" Service. Read her story in the September issue of the Britain At War magazine.
